I am yet to watch leave the world behind because I wasn't coping with Julia's dance moves in the trailer. Am I being too picky? Hitchcock-y sounds good though, so I will give it a try.
Definitely worth trying! It's not a perfect film, but I thought it created a mood extremely well, and the actors were all great (Julia's dancing was highly awkward but I choose to believe this was deliberate - it definitely added to my sense of discomfort).
Colin Farrell. I'd watch anything he's in . You are spot-on seeing him as a force of nature. In the earlier films, In Bruges, The Lobster etc when he wasn't covered by facial hair be had many other charms. And I increasingly think Fitzgerald over-rated. Hope it is no longer on school sillybus? I also recently re-saw, re-heard, re-read Mr Bennett. Hope P and P is still on sillybus. Is that Ralph Fiennes behind the teeth and the mad eyes?
Not sure if Fitzgerald is still taught at schools. Maybe it is a book that is better for young people - I remember loving it in my twenties, and although I still admire it I don't feel the same way now. Austen, on the other hand, seems to get better with every passing year. And yes that is Ralph, in costume as Voldemort from the Harry Potter movies!
I loved The Birds vibes of Leave the World Behind too! πΏπ₯
That Voldemort meme gets me every time π€£π€£π€£π€£
